Eric Lindros Easter Seals Tournament

Attached is information on a celebrity hockey tournament: Eric Lindros Easter Seals tournament Friday, November 8th, 2013.

Jerry Johnston
"I played in this tournament last year and
it was a blast!
Thursday night there was a player’s meeting at the Edge where, to begin with, hockey players got to meet hockey greats in a casual bar situation. Then (still at the Edge), host Scotty Morrison (from CBC Hockey Night in Canada) ran ‘The Draft’, where teams pick the celebrity that was to become  part of their team for the tournament (only one day tournament – all games on Fri).

Last year my team from Nurse Chevrolet Cadillac picked Eric Lindros: 1st pick  - we just had to ……. and am I ever glad we did.  He stayed with us the whole day Fri and because we didn’t make it to the final (- a good thing), we stayed in the dressing room, ordered in pizza and beer …and ‘shoot the shit’ with Eric (learned so much about the myths surround Eric Lindros).   Other ex NHLers dropped in as well.  The stories were amazing!  "

And all for a great cause. Contact Jerry (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) and click here for the attachment, ...Jerry

September Charity Golf Tournament

Please have a look at the letter below from Larry Legault, former AOHL player and sign up to support this good cause!

My name is Larry Legault I played in the the league many years back, and I still recognize many of the names in the 50+ division. As I know hockey players also play golf, as well we have all been touched by cancer in some way or another I'm asking for help to spread the word about this golf tourney.

I'm involved with a charity golf tourney being held at Kedron Dells (Oshawa) this September. The tourney, to support the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Center is being hosted by my Brother-in Law, who as he puts it "used the facilities" in his recent battle with cancer. In appreciation of the work of the center he, with the help of relatives and friends, has  decided to "pay it back" by hosting a Charity Golf Tourney.

Naturally the success of this event is very dependent on the charity of many and that is the reason for me contacting you.  I have attached a golfer registration form, an invitation for sponsorship form and a link to the tourney website.  The tourney features a major hole-in-one prize on each of the five par-3 hole, including one hole -in-one for a car.  I am soliciting your support, to get the word out for donation of prizes/sponsorship, and/or by putting together a foursomes .....why not, for fun, make it two foursomes and challenge each other all the while helping to support the fight against cancer.   Again any help in spreading the word amongst all the "oldtimers" would be greatly appreciated , as we need both golfers and sponsors.

If you could get back to me,  I thank your for your consideration.

Larry Legault
