Weekend for Bernie Update 2015-16

◊ Everyone in the AOHL should be proud of the excellent response to the "Weekend for Bernie" fundraiser for the Ajax-Pickering branch of the Rouge Valley Health System Foundation. The $2000.00 that we raised went specifically to the Urology Program at the Ajax Hospital. Recently members of the AOHL executive were on hand to present a cheque.

Sad News

We are saddened to hear of the passing of two former AOHL players.

Jim Norman was a great guy who enjoyed the social aspect of the league and will be remembered fondly by his many former teammates. He was in his 73rd year when he passed away on Jan. 17th. He will be missed by all who knew him!

Jim Reagin was another great guy and former AOHL player and sponsor (Rodman's) who will also be remembered fondly by his many teammates. He passed away in his 69th year on Feb 7th. He too will be missed by all who knew him.

September 2015 Charity Golf Tournament

Please have a look at the letter below from Larry Legault, former AOHL player and sign up to support this good cause!

My name is Larry Legault I played in the the league many years back, and I still recognize many of the names in the 50+ division. As I know hockey players also play golf, as well we have all been touched by cancer in some way or another I'm asking for help to spread the word about this golf tourney.

As you may recall, for the last 2 years I was involved in a Charity Golf Tournament being hosted by my brother-in-law Terry Muir, a cancer survivor himself, who is now  working to host the 3rd annual edition. Over the last 2 years, with the help of all including the Ajax Oldtimers Hockey League, and our golfers we were very pleased to present in excess of $14,000.00  to the Lakeridge Cancer Centre.  Thank you all again
To help us  surpass our previous years' goal, this year we are again reaching out to our previous sponsors for their generosity in donation of prizes for our Silent auction, golfer's welcome package, hole sponsors or "in Memorial Sponsorships".
We are naturally always looking for golfers, so why not put together a group and come and join the fun while helping the local Lakeridge Cancer Centre?
This year we are having an "early bird draw", register to play and pay before Aug 31st for a chance to win back your entrance fee. Plus 7 others will receive $25.00 refunded
The Tourney is at Lakeridge Links GC on October 3rd starting with a shotgun blast at 9:00 am.
