The Executive has selected Lakeridge Health - Our Cancer Campaign as the recipient of this year's fundraiser  -  Joe Smrke Memorial Fundraiser Tournament.

In keeping with the tradition that began as the Weekend for Bernie many years ago, it was an easy decision to continue our support of the valuable services that our Lakeridge Health Network provides us in Durham Region. 

This year we are honoring the memory of Joe Smrke – a long time player and Rep in the League, who passed away this past summer.  

Joe remains on the ice with us every weekend  - as he designed the current logo we wear on our jerseys today.  

Joe would be proud of the selection of this great cause.  Many other players (past and present) and their loved ones have benefited by the terrific care provided by Durham Region Cancer Centre.     

Since 2014 - the AOHL has raised $23,000 for various charities during our Tournament Weekend initiative, thanks to the very generous donations from the AOHL players.

Thanks in advance for your contributions again this year during our games the weekend of November 2^nd and 3^rd  2024.

We lost a great AOHL Alumni on Friday August 9^th 2024.   Joe Smrke lost his unexpected and short battle with cancer.      

Joe was a long time AOHL player and Team Rep (close to 30 years!).  Joe was a terrific guy; fun both on and off the ice.  He was passionate about the spirit of the league and wasn't afraid to voice his concerns and ideas ( which led to some entertaining Exec/Rep meetings).  

Joe designed the logo we wear on our jerseys today. You will always be with us on the ice Joe!  

Funeral or celebration of life information is not known at this time. 

Rest in Peace Joe.  Thanks for the many great memories.

AOHL Executive

Our Registrars have completed the Draft and teams will be finalized by end of July.  We expect to have team rosters and schedule posted by mid August.

Players will be contacted by your Team Rep shortly.  They will provide you with payment instructions and start-up logistics. 
Payment in full will be required by Friday August 16 2024 to your Team Rep.

We will be filling unpaid spots from the waiting list as of August 18.

Season Start:  Sunday September 8.  All Sunday games at ACC#2.

League fees:   $430
