Cancellation of January 2, 2022 Games

Last Updated: 29 December 2021

Due to the rapidly increasing rate of Covid in the area, along with the increased exposures through social and family gatherings (both recent and continuing through New Years) , the AOHL Executive have decided to cancel all games for Sunday January 2nd.

Our  healthcare systems are overburdened; it is a challenge to get tested; and the disruption to affected players and their families in the case of a COVID exposure can be quite challenging.

The Executive will meet again on January 6th for a decision on games for January 9th.

We hope that everyone has had an enjoyable Holiday Season so far and we wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Stay Healthy. Socialize responsibly.

CARHA Insurance waiver - Please act by Nov 30, 2021

Last Updated: 24 November 2021

Please see below for the link to CARHA's mandatory waiver. This is now a requirement from the insurance company for all participants to sign. This waiver does not affect the insurance provided to you with your membership.

CARHA Hockey's insurance policy is a defense policy, which means if legal action is taken against you (from a hockey standpoint), then the policy would be in effect and protect you. Providing the claim fell under the parameters of the policy for a liability claim (not a criminal act, by example), then your legal fees and any payout would be covered by the insurance. It's important to note that this waiver does not affect the insurance provided to you with your membership.

Please click on the link and complete the CARHA WAIVER

2021 Weekend for Bernie Fundraiser

Last Updated: 21 November 2021

Thank-you to all the player contributions towards the Salvation Army Foodbank fundraiser.
We raised a total of $2,500! Given our late start-up this season and short timeframe to pull this together – this is an awesome job!

I am extremely proud of our player's continued generosity toward the annual fundraiser event.

We are all blessed to have the choice to play hockey this season. Sadly, there are many less fortunate that cannot afford to feed themselves or their families. Today, the AOHL players made a significant difference to help those in need.

A GREAT BIG THANK-YOU to all the players!

Schedule has been updated.

2021/22 Season Approved to Begin

Last Updated: 07 October 2021

It’s time to play some hockey!

We are excited to announce the Town of Ajax has approved us to proceed with our season. The AOHL Executive met on September 14 and reviewed the requirements for Return to Play and although there will always be risk associated with Covid, we felt the mandatory double vaccination rule and Arena screening protocols are sufficient to proceed.

Although not perfect, it will be as close to normal as we can get for now.

It is critical that players review the guidelines below carefully before they commit to playing this season. It is completely understandable that some players may choose not to return under the current circumstances. Your team representative from the prior season will be reaching out to you to get your commitment.  Any delay in getting commitments may lead to a delayed start to the season.

DEADLINE:  Friday September 24 to respond to your team rep.  After September 24th, we will be filling vacancies from the waiting list.

On-line Registration will be opening in the near future.  You will be notified when it is available.  Check back often for the update.

DEADLINE:  Even if you previously filled out your registration, you must fill re-register using the 2021/22 Registration form and waiver by Friday September 24th

For players that are on the waiting list – no action required. You will be contacted by our Registrar to fill vacant positions.

Target season start is Sunday Oct 17.

25 game schedule.

League fees:   $300

Town of Ajax Facility/Arena Protocols

The Town of Ajax has provided the following Return to Play protocols for the Arena.

It is all of our responsibilities to abide strictly by these protocols so we can minimize, and hopefully avoid any Covid outbreaks.

These protocols are currently under review by the Town, and will be amended as the situation dictates.

  • Double vaccination is mandatory.   Proof of double vaccination will be required.
  • Before entering the arena/facility (players, referees, timekeeper)  must complete a COVID-19 Screening Survey www.ajax.ca/CovidScreen  OR complete the hard copy form upon arrival.

(click on link to review criteria).

  • Cannot enter arena until 15 min before and exit arena 15 min after. This is strictly enforced, as there are cleaning protocols that must also be completed by staff.
  • Facility person will check screening surveys at the door.
  • Mask on at all times including dressing room, except when ready to get on ice.
  • No showers
  • No water fill stations (you must bring your own water).
  • No spectators

The AOHL Executive is hopeful with the above protocols, including the double vaccination requirement, there will not be a Covid exposure.

As a player - if you are not feeling well (even if it is not covid related) – STAY HOME.

If a Covid exposure does occur at the rink and it is deemed to be high risk  (which will be determined by Public Health),  it is possible that one or both teams affected may be restricted from playing the following week.  This decision will not be made by the AOHL – it will be made by Public Health.

Looking forward to getting back on the ice and seeing everyone again.

Lets Play!
